Therapy for Depression
It’s okay to not be okay. When you feel sad, hopeless, or worthless, it may be because you are suffering from depression. It's important for you to know that there are helpful therapies and with the right help, you won't feel this way forever.
Book NowAbout this therapy
Our team cares about you and wants to support you as you seek happiness and contentment in all areas of life. Often, connecting with professionals can make a significant difference in how you feel each day. We’ll get to know you and your unique experience and provide pathways for change to support you on your way back to better days.
Our approach
In your initial session, your therapist will explore how you are feeling and the difficulties you’re experiencing, which might include feelings of sadness, hopelessness, worthlessness, and emptiness, along with any changes in sleep, appetite, energy levels and concentration.
Your therapist will walk you through a personalised plan that will help you build hope for your future and overcome negative self-talk through increased self-compassion. To ensure long-lasting change, the underlying root cause of the depressed mood may be explored.
As you recover from depression and your mood begins to lift, your therapist will help you to integrate any new perspectives into your life.
Integrative healing
Our team of psychologists are here to help you understand how depression shows up for you through education, such as explaining how negative thinking patterns can sustain depression. Our therapists will integrate the most helpful elements of various therapy modalities to meet your needs, which may include:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
- Schema Therapy
- EMDR
How we’ll monitor your progress
It’s important to us that you feel like you are moving forward in therapy and healing from your psychological struggles. This is why we make sure that we have conversations about whether the therapy is working for you or not. This process of getting your feedback can help your therapist adjust their approach to meet your needs better.
To keep you moving forward, we’ll use a range of methods to track your progress, such as:
- Tracking your mood using helpful measures and discussing progress with you
- Helping you understand the meaning of questionnaires used during the therapy process
- Ensuring that therapy sessions are supporting you and putting you on a path that serves you
