In keeping with the Aussie idiosyncrasy of abbreviating all names, our wonderful French ‘neuropsych’ is affectionately known as ‘G’. Growing up with a loved one with ADHD who was constantly challenged by their environment and misunderstood by those around them, honed G’s passion for providing neurodiversity-affirming assessments to children, adolescents and adults. She is endlessly driven by improving her assessments to utilise the most valid tools so that she can be accurate in her understanding of a person’s concerns, whether that is to do with cognitive strengths and differences, learning challenges, or attention regulation. When she provides feedback, she focuses on breaking things down, keeping it simple, and helping you to make sense of what can be an overwhelming process so that one feels they have a clear direction and empowered with the next steps on their journey. G’s empathic nature, strengths-based approach, and tailored, skills-based recommendations empower people to grow and thrive.
The brain has always been a source of fascination for G, especially the way in which it can create amazing and unique ways of seeing the world. G began her formal studies in medicine and gained an anatomical understanding of the brain before moving into psychology to understand it from a functional perspective. Luckily, G has a big, wonderful brain of her own that has enabled her to bring her knowledge to the clinic and share it with all who are searching for a better understanding of their own brain.
Brain breaks for G look like freediving in the ocean, playing underwater hockey (not for the faint of breath), planning her next outdoor adventure, bringing out her inner competitor through boardgames, and hanging out with her beautiful dog (and our fur-apeutic healer) Tenia.
