"If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion," the Dalai Lama
Contact UsNivek is a compassionate, warm, and open-minded professional who offers space to explore what it means to be human, to struggle, and how we can relate to those struggles in helpful, and effective ways. At the heart of Nivek’s approach is the understanding that many of our struggles are rooted in factors that we didn’t get to choose or design, and that it is possible to hold those struggles lightly and move towards a valued life.
Nivek brings a wealth of experience from working in specialist Perinatal and Adult Mental Health Services in the UK. The perinatal period encompasses the time from conception through to two years after the birth of a child. The perinatal period is a time of fundamental physiological, relational, and psychological change. For many this is a wonderful yet challenging transition which requires care and support. Mental health difficulties may arise or return including antenatal or postnatal depression and anxiety, OCD, health anxiety, fear of childbirth or medical intervention. Nivek can also provide support regarding pregnancy and baby loss, pregnancy after loss, neonatal admission, birth trauma, physical pain and sickness, and adjusting to unexpected diagnoses.
Away from work Nivek enjoys spending time with family and friends, and encouraging her stubborn sausage dog to take a walk. Whatever the weather, you can find Nivek in one of many great ocean and rock pools along the NSW coast, where she is making up for lost time that was spent in the UK!
